Daffodil 'Tahiti'

With 100 temps still pounding down on us, it’s cooling to think about a colorful early spring, and even before that, the crisp days of fall when you’ll want to get out and plant those spring-flowering bulbs for next year.

To get you in the mood, be sure to check out the new “Midwest Mix” of daffodils available to order now through Sept. 23rd from Brightside St. Louis (formerly Operation Brightside). Brightside St. Louis is known for the magnificent displays of daffodils its volunteers have planted along our region’s highway’s and byways. This year, Missouri Botanical Garden’s Jason Delaney and Greater St. Louis Daffodil Society’s Lynn Slackman put together a mix of six different bulb varieties sure to perform well in the St. Louis area and brighten your spring. The “Midwest Mix” contains 5 each of 6 different daffodil varieties, including the ‘Tahiti’ pictured above. Cost is a very reasonable $16, and proceeds result in the not-for-profit Brightside St. Louis’ biggest fundraiser of the year to help support the many programs it organizes to help beautify our city and region.

Be sure to order yours before the Sept. 23rd ordering deadline. Bulbs will be available for pickup Oct. 7th and 8th.
