I took advantage of the Media Night invitation to visit the Chinese Lantern Festival on the evening of May 31, 2012. It is a beautiful installation day or night, but from a photographer’s point of view, the best time to catch the beauty of the lit lanterns is right when they turn them on at 8pm, as there’s still some light in the sky to provide backdrop. So I may have to return many times to get the images I really want. This could be an expensive summer!
